RyanSpaulding
Anyone use a tablet in their arch viz projects for anything? I'd be interested in hearing your experience with this. I'm looking at getting one for general use...3dWorld had a nicely rated non-Wacom tablet months back that looked good (I'm on a budget, but want a large tablet). It'll help in my Flash design work and I can better justify it if I can use it for arch viz...
Aaron2004
I use my wacom for drawing or touching up pretty much anything in photoshop. I can't imagine not having it...and it's' the smallest one also.
ronll
Likewise, I have the small wacom for use with Photoshop. Much more natural and precise plus helps the fight against carpel tunnel. I use a different computer for Acad and use a mouse there mainly because it has more buttons. I don't see a need for a larger pad because I don't have a need for tracing or digitizing drawings or whatever. I just like it as a more precise pointer. denham
We've got two up here at work, an older small wacom (that I use), & another larger one that another co-worker uses. He says that he doesn't like the bigger one, because its just too big. I have a newer smaller wacom at home also, & prefer it. We use it in photoshop for post production. I also use the tablet from time to time in max/viz w/ the advanced painter plugin, for smoothing terrain, placing objects (landscape), & in dope sheet. TheCleaner
I have owned a Wacom Intuos3 A6 which i used while producing arch-viz at a practice. i used it mainly for painting textures in photoshop, and they aren't that great to use in any non painting/drawing situation compared to a mouse. I have now sold the Intuos3, which i sorely miss, but bought another wacom, the bamboo.. again its A6 and pretty damn great for the price. I use it still for the same things, but now im at uni studying architecture.. i use it for the conceptual sketching, save me paper!!
Magnus_Alexander
I use a Toshiba tablet PC (tecra m7), and would higly recommend a tablet to anyone in cg / arch viz. Many modeling programs utilize the pressure sensitivity for various modeling operations, but the big sell for me is its use in Photoshop. I use brushes extensively for any post processing, and the pressure sensitivity allows you to do some pretty amazing things that you couldn't easily do with a mouse.
