azmz3
i am trying to teach myself the 3dS Max program this year. i am proficient in AutoCAD, and know some basic photoshop for 2d renderings. i can model in 3d in AutoCAD as well. what are some tips/tricks to help someone get started in 3dS Max. most of the stuff i would be rendering would be buildings and office plazas. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks. Koper
I think this tutorial would be a great start, it goes from modeling 2 texturing 2 rendering, and easy to follow http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/yellow_house/yellow_01.asp then the Visualization Insider tutorials is also a must. It was Tailored made for everyone here at CGarchitect.com http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/default.asp
vizfx
Hi The first place to look is the help with tutorials and the “Welcome screen” section. Both of them are extremely helpful at all levels of knowledge. Second of all is the huge online database of tutorials from various sites: http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/default.asp, the demonstration section of new features from 3DS Max site on Autodesk http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=9997279, http://area.autodesk.com/, and many more. Taking count of those you have a huge amount of free resources for learning. Best regards. Mihai
Ricardo Eloy
I would take a look at Brian's book. We all know the guy behind it and he's good. http://www.3dats.com/products.asp
