hereagain
I've been trying to create a material for some time now that has the look of a skylight or frosted glass that actually diffuses sunlight coming through it (does not create hard shadows once it passes through). Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Thanks!
shaneis
You could fake it by making the skylight material translucent and provide the soft shadowing with an area light placed very near the skylight geometry. This will give you a great deal more control over your shadows, light qualities and of course, render times. All the best, S.
hereagain
Thanks for the suggestions S, and that is exactly what i've done in the past to get the effect; I was just trying to get something more authentic using Vraysun only.
