nelpiper
Hi folks. My machine is qx6850, 4GB RAM, 36GB 10000rpm raptor, 500GB barracuda, 8800GTX 712MB Sometimes, I try to manipulate some files that are not so big and max crash on me:( . Sometimes, I manage to open bigger files and everything goes ok. The lusso files from Briam Smith's vray training, when I try to open them the viewports are quite slow and evetually MAX crashes. Is this harware ok? If so, does anyone know if there's any configuration in MAX that can improve this situation? Thanks folks.

Max crashes for me under directX along with some other users that have had this problem too. If you're using max2008 i've found that files from previous versions can also be problematic. The only solution i know of is to export the contents, make a fresh file in 2008 and re-import everyting. Tedious....yes.
