Devin Johnston
I've had my copy for a few months now, I've been waiting to see if everything was ok with it before installing it. So those of you who are using it what do you think, is it stable and bug free or should I wait for the first service pack?
PGD
Seems ok to me... been using it for a few months now without any serious issue. Just needed to update Backburner with the latest version on the autodesk website, replacing the version that came with the 2008 disk, but you may have done that already anyway

Justin Hunt
Been rock solid, the viewport speed alone is worth it. As well as the mentalray upgrade. I have been using and abusing 2008 sinceit came out and have had no major issues. JHV
chow choppe
what about plugins like vray 1.5rc3, Onyxtree/speedtree/ egzmaterials/Rpc are 64bit versions out for 3dsmax2008?
BrianKitts
I'll vouch for vray and onyx being solid, can't comment on the others.

ShaunDon
Forget viewport speeds, the realtime viewport shadows are incredible! Just really fun to play around with. Otherwise it's been about as stable as service packed max 9 was.
Justin Hunt
RPC, finally have the option to cast shadows with mrsun, be affected by exposure control and have self illumination turned off as default. JHV
