James
Looking at purchasing an A3 inkjet printer for a home/office setup in the next few weeks. It'll be used mostly for printing off CAD drawings (A3 record copies of drawings issued) & 3D presentation drawings. What is everyone else using? Fernando Lino
I don't know how much money you want to expend, but I have a HP designjet 100...they are affordable plotters...It can print 24" (it's a pretty good size) the designket 70 prints 18" but I'd go to 100's series http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF02a/18972-18972-3328061.html?jumpid=re_R295_prodexp/busproducts/printing/largeformat&psn=printing_and_multifunction/printers/large_format
IceAged
I've had my A3 HP Deskjet 1220C for about 6 years now, I don't know if they still produce that model but I can certainly vouch for it - no problems to date other than the occasional paper jam. AJLynn
I used to have a DJ1220. It was quite good. Wouldn't want to use it for renders - that's best done on a photo quality printer. They don't sell it anymore, it's something like 8 years old, I think the current equivalent would be a DJ9800 or maybe a Photosmart Pro B8350. The HP for really good quality A3 would be a Photosmart B9180. On the other side, there are some really good Epsons. The 1400, R1800, R1900 and R2400 are all the same size but with different ink options giving them different specializations. The R1900 is brand new, so it's not quite "mature" yet - e.g., 3rd party paper companies don't have their ICC's out for it yet - but the printer it's an update of is very mature technology so I wouldn't be concerned. The 3800 and 4800 are similar to the 2400 but can do A2 size.
