fennak
Hi all, I have to create a bunch of fly-throughs of the same interior. Using GI (saved IR and light cache maps), I can vastly speed up rendering time so that each frame renders in 15-30 secs. However, the scene looks blown out, too bright, color unnatural, etc. The result I would like to approximate is the one I get when I just use Vray's default settings (see attachment). That means no GI, using adaptive subdiv, DMC sampler amt at .85, etc. However, each frame now takes 2-5 minutes to render. It is dark and lacks reflection, but that works well for my purposes. My question: how do I approximate non-GI using GI? Since I have to do a bunch of paths of the same interior, it would be nice to capitalize on saved GI files to speed up the process. Obviously I'm new to Vray, but the point is that rendering time is a big issue for me. Thanks in advance... fk
pyang
post setting? IR light cache saved for animation seems like the fastest way to go. you probably have to play around with the setting, tweaking it enough to get the result you like. And that means looking at everything from CAmeras light to SKY setting. I am sure you can get the darker result with GI cal. It's the other way around, trying to get the scene to light just right is harder. Hi all, I have to create a bunch of fly-throughs of the same interior.
