Munz
I am trying to create a material that renders both a bitmap image and the wireframe of the object. I have done this in formz and it has worked great. The reason is that I have a complex marble floor pattern that has been drawn in autocad, I want the wireframe to show up in the rendering as joint lines, while the rest of the polygon renders as marble. Does anybody know if this is possible. Any help would be great. Thanks
John Dollus
If you need something quick, you can duplicate the object and assign a wireframe to one and the bitmap pattern to the other. If you want to take some more time and want more control, export the pattern from Autocad as an eps file and import it into photoshop. Save the file with an alpha channel and use it as a mask on the floor in Max/Viz.
proces2
another quick trick is to use the Renderable spline function. import the grid from Autocad as a Spline object. with the object selected, open the Rendering rollout, check Renderable and change the thickness value to get the right width.
