kainoa
Anybody here know where I can find a model of a Monkeypod tree? OR, what software would be the best to model this type of tree? TIA
FlyinHawaiian
Hey Jason. Yeah, I've had problems too with typical Hawaii canopy trees. Onyx can kind of do it if you're lucky. The main problem with it is that Onyx creates things randomly branching away from the center. If you're fortunate,(or you cram enough boughs/branches into the tree), you can come up with a psuedo-canopy. It may be possible in Xfrog, (Xfrog people, let me know if this is true) though it has a relatively steep learning curve. The only way I know of to really do it well is to make it by hand\get it made for you. If you don't have the expertise\time, I'd recommend hiring Charley Carlat to do it. He does brilliant work and it won't look like a hack. http://www.charleycarlat.com/products/index.html Or, if you know/own a copy of LightWave, there's an cool plugin called "treesdesigner" that could conceivably be used to create trees like this. http://www.polas.net/trees/shaping.php Aloha, Joel
