Morning all

Looking for some advise generally.

1. Do people in general have libraries set up in a base max file with Materials, ect?

2. Do you have a large set of 2D planes set up with people mapped on to them so you can merge them in?

3. Do you have base file with Vray Lights set up, a vray plane, and Vray phyiscal Cams set up?

What are the short cuts you have for day to day use?

Thanks

phil

1. Yes/No, no it's not a max file, create for yourself a materials library (.mat) from the material editor, and then you can pull up your standard materials anytime you are working on a project.

2. No, I either use 3D people or I comp them in post. But I don't keep 2d people setup, I guess if I did them that way more often I would. But similar to what you mention, yes I have a file full of 3D people in it that I merge in for use all the time.

3. Yes, I have a scene file with a skydome, treeline, vraySun attached to a daylight settings rig, and physical camera saved out that I start every max file from. Also have the same for interior scenes with 3 typical lights (IES for flourescent, spot, and vrayLights)
