Bank Rendering

A co-worker and I have been working on a project together in our down time to improve our 3D skills. We worked strictly from a photograph and took some artistic license.

This was done using 3ds Max 9 Daylight System with Mental Ray. Our normal work flow is scanline render.

We feel we are about 90% complete. Currently we are trying to incorporate some sort of background/entourage and tweaking our interior and glass material.

Please enlighten us with your pleasant or harsh critiques!

I just wanted to post some updates to our bank project. We've encountered a couple of hiccups in our progress. Mainly, our real job has been getting in the way and making us take time away from this project (that's never fun, but it pays the bills).

For those interested, here's another batch of renders. We added some sitescape and background detail (both still need some work) and monkeyed with some materials, mainly the glass texture. We are getting a bad reflection in our original camera view, which is getting fixed as we speak. A few other improvements have made their way on our list of updates, so hopefully we can imcorporate those as well and get our final images out soon.

Thanks for the comments so far, please keep them coming.

Very nice work there the more you use mental ray the

better it gets and there is a good few extras in 2008

The only thing that looks really wrong is your road. It could do with some bump and a little reflection maybe. Also you might want to look at

dropping the diffuse on the red cladding to 80% this is a little tip

I got somewhere and sometimes it makes all the difference.

Hope this helps
