ZFact
Hi; My IT guy is going to tweak my graphics card for me to suit it application... I am using the card for rendering out stills and animations... using cinema 4d, vray for cinema 4d and final render 2. Is there anything he should be doing to optimize the card the these applications... the card is an nividia 8800 ultra. Could anyone please give me an answer on this within the next half hour as he wants to start working on it then... thanks for any advice
AJLynn
There is no way to use the video card to run Vray, finalRender or Advanced Render faster. The only thing it can help with is the interface in the C4D viewport display, but there's not that much to do with tweaking - you can change quality settings to make quality/speed compromises, but that card is already so fast I doubt you'd notice any difference. ZFact
great... do you think just bang the card in and leave it be as the defaults will be fine... he wants the machine over night to tweak it but i would rather just have the machine on and rendering tonight... AJLynn
I think if you have work to do you should do it. If he really wants to mess with your PC he can do it when you don't have work to do. BTW, if by tweaking he means installing the nVidia tuner and overclocking it, tell him not to bother - you're as likely to run into problems as not and the thing is already so fast, and Cinema is already so fast, it's not worth it.
