iceman478 Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 i am using mental ray for max 8 my question is ..i am trying to do caustics and for the most part its worked but i need some help on how to change the color of the glass in the mental ray materials....seems that i choose glass physical gen or something but it doesnt let me change the color to like gray blue , or what ever color i want can anyone help? WAcky Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I think if you use the A&D material and set the preset to physical glass you can alter the light persistence. Give it a go! Justin Hunt Posted January 27, 2008 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Increase the max refraction values, for each plane of glass there are 2 sides, therefore multiply the number of planes of glass by 2, that will give you the smallest value it should be. Also increase the max ray depth. Add the max reflection depth and max refraction depth, this is what the max ray depth should be. JHV Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
