Billabong
I have these slanted roofs that are suppose to go over the balconies, and the roofs are that Spanish tile. I cannot figure out how this roof is supposed to be shaped. I only have the front blueprint of the roof and an arial view of the balcony, which I also attached. the way I have right now, I dont thin its suppose to be. I just dont see how the tile would look right, but if I remove that edge, then the entire balcony won't be covered unless I bring the roof out farther than it should be.I really appreciate any help
Chad Warner
looks about right to me. Really the only other alternative would be if there is a flat portion on the top of the roof so all of the pitches end up being the same.
Billabong
Thanks for responding so fast Chad. SO you think the spanish tile will look right on that roof, the way I have it modeled now, I know theres only one way to be sure, but I'd really hate to do it and then it not look right. Thanks again
Chad Warner
I can't quite tell if the roof pitches are all the same, but generally that should be the case. You're using Vray right? Why don't you make a gradient ramp map and use that as a quick displacement on the roof planes you've already got-just to see what it looks like. That way you don't have to model all of the tiles until you're sure you like the look of it.
