arkitech2
Hi Guys! Im having a problem in my rendering. There is an illusion on my rendering behind the glass. Im using vray mat, attached here is the mat'l setting that i did. I did a quick render for you to have a look, the first one is with the glass turned on, as you can see, the glass is curve. you will notice the pavement outside starts distorting as it goes further. The second image is with the glass turned off. i did this for your comparisson, Somehow this should be the way it appears. but of course but i cant let the glass turned off because i want to see some reflections from inside. Anyone can help me in this problem? Many thanks!
shaneis
My guess is that it the refraction that is causing the effect. You should have some distortion through a glass plane, that's what your IOR (Index of Refraction) will do at 1.6, neutral being 1.0 (still, dry air). Make sure your glass plane has a realistic thickness to it. That is, if the glass is meant to be 10mm glass, make your model that way. Having correct representation of the object will help your renderer calculate the correct direction of the rays. Hope this helps, S.
Stephen Thomas
If the glass is curved as it appears here then a ray passing through at an angle will pass through a greater thickness of glass and therefore be refracted more and create more distortion.
