maca
I'm trying to do a quick mock up of an interior building, lighting accuracy is not important at all, but time is. Instead of fiddling with light settings i'd like to use a skylight for it. Now obviously the ceiling blocks off all the light, but is it possible to have light pass through the back of the polygon (which is invisible) onto the inside of the building? I've tried applying a standard material, and going to properties to not have the surface casting a shadow but it didn't seem to do anything that I need. Any helpers would be terrific PS. using mental ray as renderer.
alrawli
You could try right clicking on the roof object and switching off some of the advanced lighting attributes for the object and see if that works. I dont know if you could make the roof a single plane and have the one surface as the inside of the roof and thelight shinning through it should work in scanline but im not sure about MR.
