pacman
Hi all, I've been working with digital models since 2004, and now I’m using v-ray 1.50 rc3 and max 9, but recently I had an odd problem. I’ve ever had to render some images to print in large sizes, but now it doesn’t render, (5000x3750 pixels) the program simply closes. I tried to use backburner to render stripes, and again, I was not able to do the render. My problem is; I’ve already rendered images this size in worse machines with more complex scenes. And now I’m using a quad core with 4 GB RAM, so I believe that’s not a memory issue. I’m using v-ray frame buffer; again, I don’t think memory is the problem so far. It’s the third time it happens to me in different projects. I don’t know what else I can do. Sorry for the English. And thanks for the help
Arnold Sher
okay, off the top of my head there are several issues here... If you are running 32 bit windows your problem might be there as it tends to not handle large scenes too well. 64bit proved be very stable and a real work horse. Something i cannot say about max 2008. Another thing you might want to check under vray is what kind of anti aliasing you are using as we found out that under 32 bit anything else except "area" would make it crash while rendering large scenes. Also displacement under 32 bit was not a favoured thing either.. So this is kind of where i would start and work my down.. Good luck and i hope you come right... pacman
Hi Arnold, Thanks for the help. I’m using Windows x64, I tried to change the anti-aliasing and the same thing happened, max just closed. The displacement I did not turned off, late I’ll test this too. ARTECmedia
Change to Vray 1.5sp1 will solve all your problems.
classix
I solved similar problems by using the max frame buffer and rendering with stripped scanlines via backburner. One server only. http://www.einherzfuerpixel.de
