Donor
The situation: I've got an editable spline with an extrude modifier. I want to input a specific length for the extrusion. The problem: I put the specific length into the appropriate field, hit enter, but the field reverts to it's previous setting and doesn't take my value. The weird thing is, it will take the value if I hit one of the incremental arrows either up or down and then try to re-enter the value. (???) Thoughts? Solutions? I'm not sure what I pressed to kill this feature, but it's quite irritating. Also, on a possibly related note... is there a way to change what increments are used when pressing those arrows? What if I wanted the extrusion to lengthen/shorten by 10mm as opposed to 1000mm every time I pressed the arrows? (By arrows, I mean the up and down buttons just to the right of most input fields) All help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Dave Buchhofer
Take a look at the scene units, the world units (under their own units setupwindow) , and the spinner precision under the customize, prefs, general I've seen this happen a lot when working with meters system units while in inches display units for instance, or some other strange combo there. also be sure you're somewhere near 0,0 for the scene. the further you get away the worse the precision the math gets
Joseph Petrino
Customise / Preference settings / Spinner Precision might be what your looking for.
ipxstudios
If you are putting in values smaller than what is in the units set-up then it will go to 0.
