RyanSpaulding
Anyone have any ideas on what's causing this issue below or how to fix it? it's a series of triangles (all solids) and it's not looking nice. EDIT: NVM. It was a revit linking issue with auto-smoothing.
gfa2
Imported topo and max terrain tool?
ARTECmedia
1. move the object into na 0,0,0 coordinates in MAX scene 2. when importing turn OFF Auto Smooth 3. If you can't do the previous steps, just apply SMOOTH modificator. Set Auto Smooth to 0. And then again to the angle you want. good luck
ipxstudios
There are adjustments you can make in the terrain panel, those may help. What I do is drape a subdivided plane over a terrain. I use ffdbox and the paint tools to deform gently the plane to match the terrain. If you have roads, sidewalks and curbs you can deform those at the same time. It's not 100% accurate but you can get close. You can make the plane act as a cloth and drape onto the terrain.
RyanSpaulding
Sorry fpr not responding. I had just edited my post instead. It actually was the auto-smooth in the linking that did it. Once I turned that off, all was well. Thanks for the quick responses guys!
