Tim Saunders
So I am still doing my best to get used to Mental Ray. the new version that is with Max 2008 is great. Very similar tools as Vray (especially the skylight portal). But I mentioned on another thread, the school I am teaching at no longer has access to Vray, so I decided to get the students rolling in Mental Ray. The only problem is, the school uses Viz 2008 (older version of Mental Ray), so I never have a chance to experiment with Mental Ray since I go about lighting a scene completeley differently in the new release. the tutorials in the Viz tutorials look pretty good, but I can;t experiment with them because I have no tutorial files (max scenes). The school is just way too big for me to hunt down who ever installed Viz on the computers and get the files. Anyone know where I can download them? Or at least the scene used in the tutorial? Or how about a Mental Ray 3.5 architectural interior tutorial from some other place? I have been to these places, but I'm not finding anything helpful for a beginner's interior tutorial: http://mymentalray.com/ http://mentalraytips.blogspot.com/ http://jeffpatton.cgsociety.org/blog/ and Brian's Mentalbout max

Tim Saunders
Those look like what I need. I just usually try the free stuff first, like Max's included tutorials.
