frank1331
Does anyone know if there is a script out there that will apply a matte material to all but the selected objects so that I can render out individual objects. There used to be a script by Scott Onstott that did this, but I can't seem to get it to work in Max 2008.
Justin Hunt
there is a shader called "Subset of scene" load it into the lens slot in the render dialogue. Choose which object you want to be rendered add it to the list and render. It helps if the FG is saved before hand, if not then switch on Calculate FG for entire scene. This works really well, except for RPC's which dont bet masked properly. JHV
mdviz
Render Mask by Ivan Tepavicharov works in 2008, though not on sub materials and you will need to turn off auto exposure. To speed things up FG and GI should also be disabled. A great tool if you need lots of masks quickly.
