lyca
Hi all After completing a project in Max/Vray, i would like to export the project with all shader and texture to a realtime engine, i'd like to ask if anyone knows a realtime engine for max with who it's easy to export a project or do i have to redo all the textures one by one for example if i want to use Quest 3D ? Devin Johnston
This has been talked about many times before and the consensus is that there is no real-time engine out there that can easily take a model from a standard 3D package. The problem is that most engines use their own shaders and lighting systems and there is no way to directly export a model into these engines with all of those elements intact. You would have to import the geometry and then completely rework the model in order to have something that would function in a real-time engine. You will also have to edit the model to get the geometry as simple as possible in order for most engines to be able to handle it.

notamondayfan
i know its not vray, but i think fryrenderer has a automated realtime conversion thingy. quest 3d is a good option tho, as you can export several uvw maps for each object. ive been experimenting with quest and getting some really nice results using vray and baking the lighting.
