Hi all,

Please find attached Dell Computer Quotes.

Choice of:

1. Dell Precision T3400

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0Ghz) 375W

- 4MB L@ Cache, 1333Mhz

- 2GB 667 Mhz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM

- 256MB PCIex16 NIVIDIA quadro NVS290

2. Dell Precision T5400

- 4MB L@ Cache, 1333Mhz

- 2GB 667 Mhz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM

I would really appreciate any help if you could.

I'm not much of a computer spec expert.; I need to choose a computer that will be good for Architectural - Archicad3D modelling and Cinema 4d Renderings etc.

Thanx in advance

Jon

hi guys,

thanx for the quick replies. will see if Dell can get the price for this 8800GT.

So I reackon to get the Quad is better over the Duo Core in terms of cpu speed and power...Im new to this computer spec languages.

the FX4600 is priced a $6300 for upgrade...thats a lot of mine.

Does anybody know about the Dell XPS420 and XPS720 systems.

they have 2 Quad Core Q6600 (2.4ghz, 1066) will this be better than the Precisions computers in my first post???

thanx all

Not necessarily, the XPS are built for high-end games performance, the Precision Workstations are built for (amongst other things) 3D work. The XPS has 1 (one) "Intel Core 2" QUAD-core processor. The Precision Workstations can have up to 2 (two) "Intel Xeon" QUAD-core processors.

Both will perform well, though you may want to have a look here... http://www.intel.com/products/server/workstation_processors/index.htm?iid=wsproc+tab_workstation. If budget allows, aim for the newer 45nm processors. Once you've read the info at the Intel site, head back to Dell.
