nodar1978
hi, I'm doing exterior in 3ds max. could you give me advice how to do the water on a street to make scane more realistic? like a weather after rain. just do some form and then give the reflection material or better to do something else? thank you
Crazy Homeless Guy
in the past i did this by painting a sophisticated texture map in photoshop. after you have the texture done, you need to paint a reflection map and bump map that correspond to it. meaning that, in joint it is very reflective, then a layer of blotchy reflection to simulate the unevenness of concrete or whatever materials you are using. the reflection is painted in grayscale, where the white area is more reflective, and the black area is less reflective. if done right, it will look like paving after a rain storm.
