autocad 2008 and annotative text

has anyone else had problems with annotative text in autocad, where it just blows up enormously in size after you save the drawing or open it up again ?

or maybe the better question is, does anyone know how to solve this ???

annotative scale is a great new feature for 2008, but it seems to have some bugs. i've installed the service patch and that hasn't helped.

any help much appreciated !

nobody, eh ?

i've searched everywhere for an answer (autodesk, AUGI, google) and it seems to be just an internal problem then. i can't find anything on the subject that would lead me to a solution.

i'd still appreciate any thoughts.....

woo hoo ! 250 posts.....

just in case anyone was interested, it was a curious problem created by the network setup at my institution......something to do with novell and certain rights for students.

it is a real problem, but not exactly autocad.

actually, i'm not entirely convinced that it doesn't have something to do with autocad since i experience the problem of dim leader text blowing up in size at home as well.

it only happens with annotative dimension styles and just when you save the drawing. i've done a lot of research, but can't believe that i'm the only one who has seen this problem.

if i use non-annotative text in the annotative dimension style, it still does it. only if i revert back to the pre-2008 concept of dimscale does it behave properly.

what sort of issues are you having specifically ? maybe i can help.

So we've been having that problem at our office too. Our cad manager has been talking with autodesk and not really getting no where. But I stumbled upon a quick trick that will get the text to revert back to its normal size. Once you open the drawing, just undo everything (ctrl z). I don't know what going on when Autocad starts up or why it is doing this, but this seemed to work for me, and its a quick fix. I know how frustrating this problem can be, so i hope this helps!
