BrianKitts
if it's just a node why wouldn't spend any money on a video card? if you are going to work on the machine from time to time though, it's a different story I have three old systems at home that I have converted into rendernodes, and I've pulled the videocards from them and if I had I would just use the onboard video card. I actually don't even hook a monitor to them, I just use remote desktop and plug them in with only the power and network cables.
Tommy L
Apparently, this MB doesnt have on-board video so I need at least some kind of card. I think this one is about as cheap as they come.
ARTECmedia
You don't need CDROM Get Better RAM - At least 800mhz. It's very good option for oveckloking. My Render nodes are on the same MB. Very good choice. I clocked the CPU's to 3.2ghz. Actually you need the videocard, because the MBs with onboard video can't be overclocked. Good Luck P.S. WinXPx64 - the best choice. VISTA is rotten
shaneis
If you can find a cheaper card, grab it. If you don't intend on overclocking, leave your RAM at the 667 and spread it over 4 DIMMS (4 x 1GB) rather than over 2 DIMMS. I agree that you should get a big & quiet cooling fan.
