Antisthenes
i might be jumping in here late. but i use a Tablet for everything. a TabletPC and a wacom on desktops. I couldn't imagine anything else as it is such an organic way to input i wouldn't give it up.

RyanSpaulding
pimp? or overkill? love my wacom graphire 3 and couldn;t do my job without it. Overkill for arch viz? Perhaps. Character modeling? Definitely not. While the tablet will have it's uses for the job, I'm going to use it to build organics in ZBrush.
blowback
I have no experience with zbrush but I want to learn. Seems like a valuable tool that should be in the box.
louis.cho
Cintiq is not overkill: it's the most useful hardware to have in post-production work. A simple tablet is good, I have one at home for personal work, but when you try a Cintiq, you'll never see your tablet as before. It's the most intuitive tool to use with photoshop or others post-prod work
mattclinch
can you explain Louis? you say it's useful and intuative, but i can't see how it isn't just a tablet with the screen shown on it? i dont want to spend my day looking down at my desk, and i have hand-eye co-ordination to move the cursor on a normal wacom. frankly i just dont think the cost is justified. would love to hear what you consider to be the advantages and why they are more intuative? Jim Mann
You haven't even begun to use Photoshop until you've used it with a graphics tablet. I recommend the Intuos 3's; good build, reliable, good pressure sensitivity. I have two; a big one for my desk and a smaller one for working on site. One thing to avoid...don't put your DV camera on top of one. the camera really doesn't like it. Jim
louis.cho
I just prefer the cintiq. It more intuitive because it's like painting directly on the paper. I don't said tablet are not good, just that I prefer it. yes, it's 'just' a table with a screen, 100% agreed. I just wanted to say that I love it, don't force you to buy one. RyanSpaulding
If it wasn't 2 G's, I'd grab it instead of what I got. It'd be amazing to draw ON the screen that has the image. Exactly like paper...no disconnect.
