alfienoakes
I have a Dell E520 machine, Core 2 Duo. Guy here at work tried to plug his phone into the USB, and it popped all the USB ports. After that nothing.. not a thing would work. So, I removed the CMOS battery to reset the system etc.. Put it back in, restarted etc. Set the time and date after resetting the CMOS back to the system defaults. Now, as far as I know, this should have set all the settings back to day 1 shipping, and the machine should have started OK. Well, now I am getting the "Floppy diskette Seek failure, press F1 or F2" etc.. So I F1 to continue, windows initial DOS splash appears, then the machine goes off.. and restarts all over again. Cant get it to come out of this cycle now.. I have tried disabling the seek portion, but still exactly the same. Anyone have any clues as to whats going on..?? AJLynn
You need Dell tech support, not a bunch of forum people who aren't Dell tech support.
alfienoakes
Hmm.. Ok.. Fair point. Just I have dealt with them before, and dont know if I have the time or patience for the "have you tried it unplugged form the network" line of questioning.. But yes.. I will give them a call..
