Andrew1
Hello, I got a small question, currently running dual core intel 3.2 ghz, I'm planing on building a new comp......., When I render with vray right now I see 2 buckets rendering, if I would buy core 2 dual ?? am I gonna have 4 buckets rendering ?? Is this gonna greatly increase the render speeds? What is the best solution right now for rendering, I don't wanna spend too much money on actual dual cpu mobo, so I'm just wondering about the inexpensive fix... AJLynn
A Core 2 Duo, e.g. a dual core, has, unsurprisingly, 2 cores. 2 buckets. A Quad has... well, they speak English in Edmonton, I'll let you sort it out.
STRAT
dont the Americans still use the imperial duos and quads? in that case a dual is about 3.24546 buckets, and a quad? um, heck, could be anything
AJLynn
But in Canada the cores are counted in Metric but the clock speed is in Imperial (1 GHz = 139.335 foot-farthings/minute).

Yo chief you better stop it, you simply crack me up one sec, got to regain composure...., now much better, well ok thanks for your reply, but I wasn't asking about the quad core cpu, all I was asking was the difference between the dual core and core 2 duo ??? do amercians always jump into conclusion without examining the entire story, what's next mass destruction weapons in my comp case?? , Sorry I simply confused the core 2 duo thinking it would work as 4, "core 2" and "duo" made me think I would have possibly 4 buckets. Now send the troops to Edmonton to disarm my comp case. LOL Cheers!
AJLynn
Well, you know, you guys need to start thinking and doing a bit of your own research. You know, Google, Wikipedia, etc. You start a thread just to clarify a point that you can learn yourself in about 15 seconds. For that, I will mock you and you will deserve it. Relax chief, I am not upset I was just kidding, actually it was funny, but you misunderstood my question, you know I am at work and had little time to do a research so I wanted to ask the real source of knowledge which is this forum and get a quick precise reply, I tried to search google and got no hits indicating vray and the differences between the 2 processors... Maybe you may have a better luck ?? "You start a thread just to clarify a point that you can learn yourself in about 15 seconds." man if everyone thought this way you would have no forum, and no one to mock , If one had enough time, one could find everything on line, and me silly, thought that the forum was the source of knowledge... Sorry chief , next time I make sure not to waste your time, Thanks again, Cheers. P.S. I was just kidding about about the mass destruction weapons..., Halt the troops !!!
