Kyle
O.K here is my reception W.I.P. You know when you look at an image for so long you begin to wonder what else you can do to enhance it, and you know you are not happy with it but you can't quite put your finger on it....well voila this is where I am at with this image. Any pointers and crit is welcomed. Thanks.
Trevor Tizard
A larger image please.
Joseph Petrino
Yes, bigger image would be helpful. The first thing that strikes me is the wood material and chair material need more work.
Kyle
I thought my image was a little small when I uploaded so here is a revision. The wood at the rear is grooved and the chairs are a tough fabric, could you suggest ways of improvemnt please. Much appreciated.

Trevor Tizard
That's very nice mate. My first thought would be to check that exposure control is set to none, and that there arn't two suns or something daft like that (kind of thing I'd do you see)! Kyle
O.K. Cheers for the compliment. I have looked and I don't have 2 suns, wish i did really:) I have actually lit the scene with a direct light opposite the shadow angle and with filler plane lights to light up the room more for the G.I at the windows. I have added my settings just to make things quicker for you to look at. The fabric on the chairs actually looks fine at print size it is just that on the small image it looks flat, granted I may need to enhance the displacement map a little more. The white on the desk is more or less how the actual material is. It's just that to me the whole image looks 'FLAT' and I can't quite work out what it actually is, if its the lighting set up when I adjust it, it tends to look too dark. Any suggestions? Stephen Thomas
Are you responsible for the design or just the visuals? I'm asking because I think you are accurately showing the space as it has been designed. If something doesn't look right about it then perhaps it requires a design change rather than being down to your lighting and texturing. Or perhaps a different viewpoint could help show the space in a different light? I think the uninspiring view from the window doesn't do it any favours, but that can't be helped. Sorry if that's not much help!
Kyle
It's not my design no, I've just done the visuals. I agree with you about the image from the windows it is rather dull but apparently that is what they are going to see, very inspiring....not:) Your viewpoint does help Stef and gives me extra perspective from which to look at it, a fresh pair of eyes always helps. I'm going to keep pushing along and try and make it somewhat more dramatic. I'll keep this post updated with a new visual when done. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do through the window rather than show what they would see, as a kind of concept image look?
Kyle
An update on my image before, tried to make it a little more interseting with the shadows....only to find its a north facing building:( You just can't win can you:rolleyes: C&C welcome and appreciated. archytextural
i think with that much brick outside the window you'd get a little of the brick color bleeding into those nice crisp white walls. or reflecting some in the shiny surfaces. or perhaps a dusk shot could be a little more interesting an image a little warmth coming from across the way from the rick building... just some thoughts
