wasteland giant Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 I'm normally a Vray user but thought I'd use mental ray for my latest project. It all seemed to be going fine til I set up my batch render and came in the next morning to find this! If anyone could help troubleshoot, I'd really appreciate it. hatem2d Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 Hi, I used to have this problem in max 9 with mental ray and specially in rendring high resolution. Maybe if you split the file to strips by the backburner this may help or use lower resolution...but I think it is a silly bug in the program and thats why I switched from max 8 to 2008 directly. I've got to have a look into how to split this thing up in backburner. Justin Hunt Posted February 14, 2008 Share Posted February 14, 2008 Try rendering through backburner, saving the fg at a lower resolution first then rerendering the frozen fgm Split scanline rendering can also help the black buckets are a memory issue so free up as much as possible.
