skala67
Hello all, I am sure this has been covered before, but I cannot seem to find the information. What is the best format, compression, etc.. for the optimal animation for the internet. I am creating the final movie in Premiere. Thanks,
JamesTaylor
i guess it will depend on your delivery method from the web, but .flv is good for flash - actually flash's native video format. I also believe quicktime can be implemented well in flash.
upshot
Sort of depends on your audience. I 'guess' most have flash installed so .flv or anything that flash supports is probably a good bet. There is a love hate with quicktime but again the question is will your audience deal with loading QT. Anything windows media has a good chance but, the mac fans will hate you. DivX works great but your back to square one. Using a 3rd party to serve it is always a good thing so using google video or youtube can widen the net (if you can deal with the quality hit). It's really a PITA at the end of the day because there is no 'universal' video format!
skala67
I guess what i am looking for is something that will give me the smallest file size with best output. Movie will be at 600X450.... Any thoughts? tj
upshot
That would probably be Divx... Or Quicktime H264...
manta
Well you can always do what I did...I gave them a choice, FLV, WMV and Quicktime...you can see it if you go to the Imagery section on my website...
