Eric Sosa
hello everyone a little history...saw this picture and though it was cool... and easy (a piece of cake) to try to visualize it with 3d max, vray and NO photoshop. the pic has lots of ligth but still great contrast to armonize the smoothed textures. the is the best lumination I have done until now (textures & cam angle are not done properlly yet)... ...no good enougth. facts: - vray physic cam with exposure, shooter speed 0.5 and 300 ISO. - vray ligths (planes) with 2,0 max intensity - post procesing: saturation = 1.0, contrast 0.2, constrast base 0.2 - colour mapping "exponential" = dark multiplayer 0.05, birgh multiplayer 1.0 & gamma 0.3. I may be doing this completelly wrong!......am I? how can I get MORE contrast? becomes a challenge for me..and I do NOT want to use photoshop to finish it up! any tip of how to do this shot better would be very apreciated
gfa2
Looks like a gamma problem, try the ColorCorrect plugin. You can get deeper colors and maintain overall lighting.
own1221
The colour of the lights really need adjusting imo. Can i have a look at the file?
kippu
well you have decreased your contrast and you are using expo color mapping and decreased the black multiplier ...all of which will lead to low contrast ...try linear or reinhard > .5 or higher
Eric Sosa
thx for all your replies. used reinhard but imposible over 0.15 multiplier...as kippu suggested. yep..more contrast, but if you look at the bathroom is very ligthed and I can not increase the ligth intensity...it burns. got the cam with very low shooter speed. I suppose by doing that (also in reality) you gain luminosity and that's what the photographer did. @ own1221 don't beleive this is a ligth colour isuee..don't mind sending you the file (some boxes, ligths and a camera). btw, I did install the colour plugin but can not find out how it works (together with vray?) I have tried to fix with ps and it's easy... BUT...I shall try my fight vs photoshop!!
Eric Sosa
got this pic at the end....with photoshop help unfortunatelly. spend some time trying to catch up with gamma and several other stuff, but never got the rigth contrast, either too lighted and little contrast or burned with ugly shadows. the wine & two glasses?..why not, a nice place to relax
gfa2
btw, I did install the colour plugin but can not find out how it works (together with vray?) The color correct plugin will show up as a material that you can assign to any material channel. so if you put it in the diffuse slot you can use it to control colors or image maps that you want to use. Crank up the gamma value to darken the material (seems backwards but that's the way it works).
Eric Sosa
thx Gary, didn't know how to use it As it can be assigned to the mat maps, it can be used with vray, I suppose. I try again 2 nigt at home, hope to fix the gamma problem...at least. cheers Eric
