jophus14
Here's a bedroom that I worked on for a day or so and I would like some feedback on it. What should I add, change or remove from the scene? I was thinking of placing an ottoman at the foot of the bed or giving the carpet some sort of design, but I would like your imput. Thanks. Q-Bix
Its looking nice, pretty hard to critisise. Texturing is very nice. Maybe a rug? or pehaps some more clutter, ie a stereo or something on the table to the left. The environment looks a bit weird, like you have floating trees. Joseph Petrino
I would reduce the amount of reflection on the glass and spin down the saturation spinner on the "indirect illum." tab. Yes it does look a little empty. Great start.
Ricardo Eloy
Really sweet! My only comments are about the horizon line (the BG is not matching your camera) and a little lack of shadows under the sidebed table. Other than that, a pleasant piece. jophus14
Thanks for all of your comments. As far as the background goes, it's just the HDRimage that I used. I thought that it looks as if the sky met a bed of water even though the HDRI is just a sky image. I put a bed of water in the scene using a plane but due to the horizon it was 3/4 up the window pain. I don't care what background I use just as long as it goes with the scene and the feel of the room. Any suggestions on that issue? Joseph Petrino: The glass does need to be a bit less reflective and thanks for the tip on saturation. It might be too saturated due to the PS work. Q-Bix: Thanks for the comments. Now that you mention it, I might try to model an iPod dock or Bose system for the "desk" area. As soon as I get the background situation figured out the trees should look correct. Fran
It is a little sparse, but what you've got is really nicely done.
jophus14
Here's an update. What do you think of the image after the changes?
Horhe
Well yep nice improvements. But now the backdrop behind the window is too pale. Brighten it up a bit and add contrast. The composition is much better compared to the previous image. Shame nothings on telly today
alfienoakes
Really nicely lit. The only thing I can say, is that the external image would look much brighter than that.. If you look at the intensity of the light coming thru the window, on the curtains etc, the outside would be blow out more than that. But, it depends if you are trying to be physically correct, or if someone wants to see a nice view out of the window. Nice image thou..
markf
very nicely lit and otherwise nice overall. can you comment on the lighting setup you used?
jophus14
Thanks for all of your comments once again. alfienoakes & Horhe: I am going to touch up the background and make it a bit more alive. markf: The lighting is quite simple, I will post a wireframe for you in a few minutes. jophus14
Updated background image.
Horhe
Bingo The palm trees outside the window are now a bit too saturated. I understand they come with the background image. The plant on the left looks funky cg to me. Probably the shade of green. Maybe little less saturation?
alfienoakes
Yep.. I think that looks better. It now looks more like the sun is where the shadows are being cast from.. You could wash the background out a little if you wanted..
markf
thanks for showing the lighting setup. the rendering is very nice. I can't tell that the EIS lights are on. Are the spot lights that are off camera part of the speced lighting design?
jophus14
Markf: The IES lights are on but their settings are quite low. With so much sun coming into the room it would have been pointless to have any interior lights on. The IES light give the light fixtures glass that look it has in the image. As far as the spot lights, I used them to fill in the space behind the camera with subtle light. This is just an image that I did for fun so there wasn't any floorplan to go by. Like I said before, this model took a day to construct and then the minor tweaks that everyone suggested I finished when I had time. I washed out the background a little more and fixed the saturated palm tree leaves. Thanks for all of your comments everyone Here is the final image that I will be posting in the completed work thread.
