I have to finish this tower in a couple weeks. This is a shot half way up. I will probably do 2 or three more. ground (focus on podium) perspective (see whole tower) and maybe another detail like this. I feel the model needs some work but I have looked at it a little to long. Any tips?

I'd put some furniture and people both inside the building and on the balconies, it will look a lot better with some life. It could also use something reflecting in the glass, even if it's just trees or clouds. You should also put something in the background, give it some context.

I was worried about the model. But no one commented on that....so I guess its ok. Giving it life is my next step. I did a small time lapse animation of the sun path.....I liked how it looked so I decided to look at some stills

hey Chris. agree with Devin, there is not much to talk about the architecture. it looks ok to me, but indeed, the enviroment is missing and prehaps a far cam shot.

 

yep, reflecting the city (stuff around) would give lots of live to it, dunno about having people on the at the balconies, rather on the street.

Here is an update. This image was a little rushed....."what about a detail, but we do need it for monday..." This was an all out weekend blitz. Fresh eyes would be appreciated.

You have some lighting problems on the underside of the balconies. I also think the background and foreground do not marry well at all. The color balance is way off (your render is too green).

I think you need to introduce alot more detail when this close to the building (filets + highlights etc)

I think it is coming along very nicely! Only comment i have is the Blinds that you have in the windows. They look placed in just a few windows and shouldn't they be in every window because even if they are all pulled up couldn't you still see a little of the bottom? and what about keeping them aligned in certain areas? I just think that might look a little better (my opinion) Could you also use something like a mecho shade instead of the blinds? http://www.mechoshade.com/site/home.cfm

I agree with the lighting problems, I don't know where they came from. It wasn't showing up in test renders.....I need to experiment and find out. With the detail comment, do you mean refining the mullions and railing....I would have, but I ran out of time.
