hereagain
I need to do an aerial shot (direct overhead view) of a site plan showing some grassy farmland around the buildings. I can't find an image at a close enough scale to work for the view I need, hoping I could easily create this with a vrayplane and a material, hopefully NOT vray fur as it would take forever to render (the view of the site would be about 300'x300'). Thanks for the help everyone.

craig.t
Try This create a texture just using a bitmap of the grass the go to the noise rollout and switch it on and try these settings and adjust to suit. amount 100 Size .001 all the rest stay the same, Regards Craig
Eric Sosa
made a test with your suggestion Craig and made one with vraydisplacementmod 2D and a dotted bitmap for the 2d displac area = 10.000,00 m2 had to lift the house (box) on the area with the displacement 1000mm from the ground tho, but again it's all a matter of taking a shot for a very long distance. it looks nicer the one with the displacement...I think. Trevor Tizard
I think the displacement looks out of scale.............far too big for the distance of the camera. At that distance I recon the other is fine. Just my opinion of course.
Eric Sosa
well, i have to eat my words on this one for big areas easy and faster the one on the left with the noise...u got me Craig for smaller areas, still nothing more real than the vray displacementmod, in my opinion, although much longer to render. (please no critics to the textures and bushes...it was a only a test ) I learn someting new today
