D.R.
Has any one put together a home networked Render Farm? I have three computers that I am trying to use in a render farm. I’m using windows XP Pro sp2 on one and XP Home on the others, D-Link DIR-625 Router and 3ds Max 9 with backburner 2007. I’m also using a second drive in one of my machines as the out put path and I have all the pertinent files shared. I have tried to set the render path through using a mapped drive and through “My Network Places”. All of the machines can talk to each other and when I use Net render all of the servers are visible, but when I submit the jobs and it kicks off the render window, I get an out put path not found error message. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong. Do I need to have a dedicated drive on the network that all machines can map to or is using a second drive on a machine excitable? Is there a differnet way or a better way of doing this?
BrianKitts
are you mapping a drive on every system to the shared folder that you are using as an output destination?
