Tommy L
I am having a Distributed Rendering problem in Vray (some bitmaps are not rendering and some buckets render slightly different to others) which Im guessing is caused by not using UNC paths for all my maps. I dont know how to change my path locations to UNC. Any help anyone? Thanks, Tom.
BrianKitts
I'm not sure converting to UNC will solve your problem.... but to answer your question anyways.... Open the asset tracker (shift-T) and then from the menu bar select Paths>Preferences>Convert file paths to UNC
Koper
Have you tried in the asset tracking? right click the specific map or maps and select 'resolve paths to unc location?
Tommy L
Im not sure it will fix it either, but I think it will be the first answer most people give when I re-post the problem;) I did what you said, but the paths dont seem to have changed.... Ah, refresh button.
Tommy L
Well, problem (not surprisingly) not solved... I have my maps in mapped drive G on my workstation. I have a mapped drive (G) on all my nodes. G is mapped to the G drive on my workstation. Should I be doing this differently?
BrianKitts
I would start doing some searches on chao's forums about your problem. There's a bajillion (sp?) posts on there of problems with DR similar to yours. Most of the time it has to do with different versions of the spawner and a multitude of other conditions. Koper
can you render it localy on a different workstation thats on the network? we don't do DR but when i have to work on a 2 year old project I alwyas have to re-map the paths manualy as the cental drive changed a year ago. after that I open on another workstation to check if all the paths worked, If not, then re-do or re-texture
Tommy L
It was the vrayspawner starting on auto. I changed it to manual and it works fine. Problem solved! Thanks guys.
