ruebenad Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 Hi I am after some advice regarding the deployment and arranging of a wide variety of free and purchased textures, meshes, and shader libraries. At present our employees (approximately 8-12) store this locally but we want to create centralised place for storage, and a place people can change and edit items without damaging the original. Questions, which we are thinking about: 1) Do we have it as a read only or allow free access but create rules and guidelines that staff adhere to? 2) Some purchased items follow different naming conventions to others; do we re-name these inline with our conventions or just add Meta data to each image for searching purposes? 3) Do we keep all purchased stock in their native file structure OR move them inline with ours e.g. tiled wood flooring? Anyone who has a functioning system or advice on monitoring and controlling such a library would be greatly appreciated!
