whitetr
Click that System Units Setup button there...then select millimeters for system units. Any transforms or dimensions you can type in in mm (regardless of system units setup). In this case though, set your system units to millimeters and you should be good to go:) that screen shot you show...select the metric button there and pull down to millimeters for your unit display. Ricardo Eloy
I'll have to disagree here. The system units should not be changed (it comes as 1 unit = 1 inch), because Max is all based on that. All calcs it makes are based on that (reactor, for example), so changing it is not a good idea. What I do here is to keep it as is and change only the display units to metric. No matter what unit you choose (meters, milimiters, kilometers, etc), the world will stay the same size, so you can switch between, say, mm and km without loosing anything. whitetr
Rick, I'm going off of our procedures here. We recieve CAD work in different units based on where we get it from. If I get a CAD file that was created in cm, I'll switch my system units to cm. It makes importing and managing the data set easier. If I do a straight import of a cm scale CAD file into inches, the scale is off. Also, we work in different system units for different reasons. For example, typically we'll do interiors in inches and exteriors in feet. Large engineering projects we do in meters when the CAD data set is all in meters. If you create an object in system units inches, then change to feet, you're model will be WAY out of scale. It's just our process to set the system units to the original data set scale.
