Billabong
I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately, but hey, thats what the forum is for right? I need to use a sky dome on this project of mine, but what I want to know is doesn't a sky dome, block out the vray environment channels from effecting the actual scene. If so, what is the workaround? Thanks guys I bought the vismasters vray training class, I thought it might help me with this problem, but unfortunately, It will not let me obtain my license and Vismasters isn't open on the weekends, So I'm gonna have to wait till Mon. to watch
Dave Buchhofer
one is to use a vraylight set to dome instead of the envieronment channel then you can just exclude the skydome object completely. Also, you may want to go to vray object properties on the skydome and uncheck the 'affect GI' if you do the above

Billabong
hi bill havent understood the question completely. actually i havent used it a lot can u explaing what are u asking here, even if u have got the answer thanks If you use a sky dome for your sky, the dome encompasses your scene, which blocks your vray enviroments in your render settings from producing GI in into your scene. Not an answer to your problems, but you may find this thread interesting if you are using a skydome for clouds. http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=38955 . Thanks, I saw that last week I think, but I think it still needs some tweaking, plus I'm going for a sunset scene and I'm not sure if that mat can actually do that, Ill need to read the whole thread
