PSD Manager for MAX 2008?

You'd think I could just approach Cebas with this question rather then coming here but they aren't responding to my emails and what's even more disconcerning is that they don't even list the PSD Manager in their products section anymore.

Does anyone here use the PSD Manager and have you found a way to make it work with MAX 2008 yet? I kept my MAX 9 setup on my computer thinking I could just open up a project in it and do my isolations that way, but no.... there's no backwards file compatability in Max....

Thanks for any help in advance. -Pix

Thank you Matt. I'll give that a whirl. I didn't know if I'd have to go through the whole license request process again or not. It's been a rather tedious process in the past getting the licenses transfered for new version installs so I'm a little gun shy on this process.

Everything works just fine with my 2008 X64 version and PSD MANAGER 2.0

Be sure that you got a 3dsMax8Folder\CEBAS\PSDMANAGER with Psdmanager.chm (help file) psdmanage.dlv (Plugins)

and Check that it is lauch at Max2008 start

check your plugin.ini located at

Driveletter:\Documents and Settings\USERACCOUNT\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\2008 - 64bit\enu

Everything works fine for 6 month.

Giving you all an update, I was finally able to get ahold of someone at Cebas and got the latest and greatest installer for 3DS MAX 2008 32 bit. I guess the original MAX 9 64 bit installer should still be used for 2008 64 bit. I have things working for now so thanks to all who participated.

Strange that you've had no response from Cebas - certainly didn't see a posting on their forums from you either. Anyway, PSDM should work in MAX 2008 - simply copy the .ini entries you have in MAX9 for PSDM into your 2008 .ini files and it should work.

Hi, should one install first max 9 and then copy/paste smth from its ini file to the max 2008 ini file?Do you know what to put into the ini file to make the psd manager working with max 9?

Thanks

Dear All,

I tried to follow exactly your advice which is to copy psdmanager.dlv from max 9 into a new directory in max 8 and tried to launch it from the ini file in max 2008 but psdmanager.dlv isn't working and it is showing me the following error:

DLL failed to initialize.Error Code: 126 - The specified module could not be found

Can someone please help here?
