Horhe
Interesting concept and presentation. About the car lights: You should work on them a bit more. You probably will since this is WIP. Try adding some motion blur and little transparency. Now its just a photoshop brush stoke. If there were to be clouds here then this image should be done from a far greater distance from above, but since its NPR thats fine Perphaps make them more stylised ? Looking nice. Pit Matson
I am working in this one What do you think? Suggestions are wellcome (max, rhinoceros, photoshop and painter)
SandmanNinja
They look very good - very hand-drawn. I'm curious - are you using the Ink-n-Paint shader?
Pit Matson
I'm curious - are you using the Ink-n-Paint shader? yes I work in 3d during the design process using both max and rhino and the first step before painter and photoshop is a basic render with Ink-n-Paint shader
SandmanNinja
I think you've done a good job at capturing the look and feel of a 'traditional' hand painting/sketch. How many material slots did you use for the Ink-n-Paint shader? I think it's very creative. Not everything has to be photorealistic to be good. Pit Matson
Thanks, SandmanNinja Only I have used a shader, very simply to start drawing and painting above. I show an illustration in which you can see the Ink-n-Paint shader ... The first one is an unsuccessful picture, and I have to repeat it today. There is a technical work in 3d with rhinoceros and max in the initial phase of design, but initially we prefer this type of illustrations that they do not compromise so much as the 3d. Sometimes, I must work 3d with vray, radiosity or mental ray, but only if I do not have alternative. I have to repeat the night one today... Since we have one more day of time, it is possible that I arranges also the third one, which I do not like too much.
Pit Matson
I believe that I like this night image more than the first one that I did
Pit Matson
This morning I have had something time to try to arrange this sketch
Pit Matson
Since I have some renders with the Ink-n-Paint shader, I am going to try this style
Horhe
The last one is my favourite. Nice!!
alfienoakes
Looks like a lot of work has gone into those. Are the colours added in post, or rendered? The last one looks good, but I think the last night ones work well also.
Pit Matson
Are the colours added in post, or rendered? I do a render with the Ink-n-Paint shader of Mental Ray, another one with radiosity or vray. And I save some renders elements (shadows, for example). In photoshop I put on the top the Ink-n-Paint shader in multiply. And I play a bit in photoshop with the curves and the renders elements. It´s quick, nice and cheap
