alfienoakes
Just set up my first render node here at work. Installed Viz 2008, and installed Vray as a render slave, so its plugins and DR etc are installed. Tried to render to it thru backburner and I am getting the following message: ERR Error message: [V-Ray] Could not obtain a license (4096) Then it flag's the job as failed... Any clues as I cant seem to find much on this..? Cheers
dbibb
Are you licensing V-Ray through a dongle?
alfienoakes
Hey Derik, Yeah.. Just looking at the install help files again.. Looks like I need to make sure of my dongle availability etc.. gfa2
do yo have the slave computer looking for the correct IP or computer name where the dongle is?
dbibb
We use max instead of viz, but it should all be the same. If you're still having trouble after reading through the help files, you can try turning your firewalls off.
alfienoakes
Cheers guys.. Realised that its more me not setting it up correctly and I have a rush on at the mo.. the 2 dont mix.. Will have a nice leisurely work thru this later on.. I hate trying new software / updates when I have a deadline..!! And yes.. had a look at the firewalls, and IP addresses.. Will do a nice clean run on this later, and let you know if I can get it working.. Cheers
