danb4026
In a static scene, with 5 camera angles, will using "incremental add to file" for each camera angle make the irradiance map more complex and, thus add to rendering time, even though the map is not being calculated at render time? I created an irradiance map using just that method for all 5 cameras. When doing my final render and using "Load File", the render went from about 1.5 hours for each previous single frame, to 7 hours!! Maybe I did something else wrong in my settings, but I cannot back track now and find out. Thanks Dan
landrvr1
Easily one of the most mis-used/mis-understood features of VRay. I know from personal experience. Best to go straight to the source for this one! http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150R1/tutorials_imap1.htm
danb4026
Thats for the link. But it does not answer the question as to why my already "incrementally added to" irradiance map took so long to render. I am thinking that I may have had DOF set "on" by mistake since there is some significant blur in the forground of the image.
Crazy Homeless Guy
Since you are using a more complex map, I would expect it to take slightly longer during the render process, but that big of a jump seems a bit extreme. I would guess you did something else. Either increaseed global subdivisions, or turned on increase detail, something along those lines. Is the irradiance map loading fine, and the large majority of the 7 hours spent on the rendering?
danb4026
Rendering time. I think I had DOF on by mistake
