rinasmruti
I am trying to create a plant variety called "Arborvitae" in Onyx. My question is does anyone have an idea how to create this using Onyx.
Logitek
Why don't you try using VrayDisplacement for this? The overall shape is pretty basic, I'm sure you could get a very convincing result with this technique... Just a thought...
rinasmruti
That was something I was going to try. But thought if it could be created using Onyx and maybe I was not trying something in that software. Thanks for your response.
Matt Clementson
I'd use one of the conifers as a base and tweak from there. Taxus Baccata M from the shipped library looks like it would be a close start.
Logitek
It is probably doable in ONYX, I didn't say it wasn't. But I like trying out the easiest and most efficient thing first. I'm doing a quick test right now in OnyxTREE CONIFER... (I'm too curious )
Ernest Burden III
I'm doing a quick test right now in OnyxTREE CONIFER... (I'm too curious ) That looks like thousands of polys when the particular tree is really just a displaced surface. It's a fancy cone.
Logitek
That looks like thousands of polys when the particular tree is really just a displaced surface. It's a fancy cone. exactly! This is why I said at the very beginning that the best way would probably be to use VrayDisplacement instead of ONYX for this particular tree. Let the people model a box with 1M polys if they want cheers,
