wongsengkeong Posted March 9, 2008 Share Posted March 9, 2008 when i save my tree in 3ds format and import it into 3d max , 4 to 5 groups of leaves are created , however only one group of the leaf in the size as seen in treestorm , the rest are very very very very small . any solution? jkletzien Posted March 11, 2008 Share Posted March 11, 2008 It sounds like it could be one of two things, or a combination: 1. Units, 3ds files seem to always want to be in english units, I would make sure my units in MAX are set to english/imperial. 2. Welding, as you bring these in you may have welding turned on and the tree vertices may be welding all together. While I would advise having welding turned on I would make sure the value is very low, or, turn it off and weld after you've brought it in. Last but not least, while this isn't the problem you noted, bringing trees in through the treestorm plugin is FAR superior than the 3DS import IMHO. Good Luck.
