xeunox
Hi all, I think its about time I started working on my portfolio, so here is my first of, I hope, many own projects. I am learning Vray and this is the first attempt at using vray instead of mental ray. Ignore the outside i am still working on the exterior. Any And all comments welcome. thanks
Koper
please don't forget the bbq outside!! Nice start, some minor probs with the light leaks, I'm sure there are threads here explaining. I think the materials need more work, I just don't get depth in them, they must look more real. Try getting some glossyness on the floor, also for the wood cubord. Some reflection on the glass (tv & doors). Does your table have a shadow? All in all it is a clean crisp render keep it up
BillyElNino
A good base, I think it needs that extra layer of detail in the textures such as book covers, maybe some door ironmongery and something to break up the coffee table expanse, a couple of magazines? I think the TV screen shot is a little too dominant in the image as well...The texture on the walls is a little crude too, maybe scaled down or changed may help. Another point on the TV, what about a nice new flat screen LCD unit on the wall to give it a contemporary feel? I second the motion on the BBQ, who doesn't like a BBQ?...! Horhe
To add to what has beed already said: Floor grouts are too wide and perphaps the floor tiling. If this is a piece for your portfolio try and sticking to a couple of dominant colours in the interior. Looking decent.

SandmanNinja
Some constructive crits: I'm not sure what it is, but the colours look flat. I see shadows, but can't put my finger on it... I'd lower the camera a touch. Plasma or LCD would be good. Books look too generic. When I have spare time (which isn't often! hehe), I scan the book covers and magazines from my library. I'm pretty sure there free books out there as well. I'd put a remote control on the coffee table, and maybe a book turned slightly askew. Keep posting WIPs! The hedge out the window looks a bit flat, too.
xeunox
thank you all for you comments, i will try all your suggestions and post as soon as i can, in the meantime here is a second project i'm doing, waiting room in a tattoo parlor, its also work in progress, its all of my own design, mostly trying out light configurations
Koper
i think i see what your going for, but focus on the design of the room more. lower the camera, use one wall light, and one painting, it brings more focus to that. Look for those photos of interior designed furniture against walls or something. it is a good start, waiting for the updates to both
demo38
Might want to check the door height in the first shot, it appears too short. Agree on the smaller flat panel tv's, wall textures too large, lower camera height, etc. On the tattoo parlor, I think her neck looks about 9 inches tall. Good starts.
