cullen
I have a file that I'm working with that is constantly giving me a "missing external files" error. When I go to my asset tracking menu I see about 12 images that are not associated with this project. (I think someone copied an older project to start this one.) Is there a way to delete these files or at least find out what they are associated with in the file? When I open the "select by name" only my objects are in the scene and all but the 3 materials that I have created are default materials. Thanks, crw
Horhe
Are you talking about external files such as textures in jpegs that are linked from the (material editor) shader to a specific folder/directory on a computer? You can modify/add paths and look for the texture or you can search the scene material library in the material editor, find the texture and change it to something else or point to the location from there... cullen
Actually i think i just found the issue. One of the "default materials" was actually a sub object material and all of it's maps were missing.
colinsenner
Cullen, I'm not sure if this is still pertinent or not, but if you need to relink the missing maps from that multisub material, you can try my Relink Bitmaps script located in my signature.
