Michael J. Brown
...No, my question is not quite as simple as how to show text in motion. I'm in the process of making an animated lead-in (a trailer of sorts, if you will) of my company logo. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 10 seconds in length. What I'd like to do as part of it is animate my company name being hand written as a sort of neon light that starts out very brite (under the weight of the 'pen'), but fades to about half it's initial intensity shortly after the 'pen stroke' has written it. No hand or pen will be shown. Just the text being written. Any suggestions?
Billabong
this would be better done in After Effects I think. Andrew Kramer has some similar tutorials on his site http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html

louis.cho
yup, the best way stand in a compositing software like After effect and Combustion. I am not an expert but it's not that difficult. You can animate a pen and text in 3ds max and play with different animated masks in the compositing process. That like is very cool, thanks
